California and Nevada

This map was made by O.W. Gray and Son in 1882 for “The National Atlas.” The states of California and Nevada are brilliantly illustrated along with Yosemite Valley, a plan of Sacramento, and the vicinity of San Francisco. Regions are distinguished by bright pastel color. Other details include the names of regions and important cities and illustrations of rivers, lakes, and mountains. No detail is spared; Gray and Son also painstakingly captured railroads, forts, islands, waterfalls, and more.
