This unique map was sent to the Chief of Engineers at the U.S. Engineer Office NY, 1880, showing locations of proposed ship canal across Charleston Neck, South Carolina. It appears that the proposed canal was never built and the Wappoo Cut is now named Elliot Creek. Portions of Wappoo Cut still exist as Wappoo Creek.
