Georgia and Alabama
Johnson and Browning produced this steel plate, hand colored map for “Johnsons New Illustrated Family Atlas” in 1862. Georgia and Alabama are illustrated on this detailed, double page map. Counties are distinguished by bright pastel colors. Other details include railroads, lakes, rivers, mountains, major roads, the names of states, counties, and important towns. Two small illustrations around the map depict local scenes.
