M. F. A. Garnier made the “Atlas de Geographie” in 1862. The maps in this atlas would frame nicely due to their extraordinarily beautiful hand coloring and title plates and their large margins. The railroads and canal lines in the British Isles are illustrated on this map with pastel green coloring. Insets show the Shetland Isles and Orcades Isles. The names of regions, possessions, important cities, island chains, mountains, rivers and lakes are identified in French.
