This 1857 nautical chart shows triangulation across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The map identifies state boundary lines, principal C. and G. Survey stations, forts, state survey stations, and it shows adjusted lines observed in both directions. Many mountains, hills, hotels, beaches, islands, shoals, school houses, mills, ponds, and light houses are identified.
