The Geological Survey is making a geologic atlas of the United States, which is being issued in parts, called Folio’s. Each folio includes topographic and geologic maps of a certain area, together with a descriptive text.”Published by the United States Geological Survey in Washington. These folios include a great deal of information regarding the topographic and geologic structure of the cites and towns that are listed. This folio of Smartsville was published in 1895. It includes a table of a generalized section of the formations of the Gold Belt. Maps included are: Topograhpy, Areal Geology, Economic Geology, and Structure Section. This atlas is in good condition with small tears throughout and is held nicely in its original paper cover.”
