The Geological Survey is making a geologic atlas of the United States, which is being issued in parts, called Folio’s. Each folio includes topographic and geologic maps of a certain area, together with a descriptive text.”Published by the United States Geological Survey in Washington. These folios include a great deal of information regarding the topographic and geologic structure of the cites and towns that are listed. This folio for Big Trees, California was published in 1898. It includes a table of generalized section of the formations of the Gold Belt. Maps in this folio are: Topographic, Historical Geology, and Economic Geology. There are also 5 black and white photos of rocks, trees, soil, etc of various areas within the quadrangle. This atlas is in good condition with some tearing throughout and is held together in its original paper cover.”
