The manuscripts predominantly legal content and lack of illumination indicate it was probably written for use by a law student in England.The 20-24 lines of text are written in secretary-influenced chancery hand. Calligraphic initial letters and rubrics are in red ink. Marginal guides to the scribe indicating which letters to color are still visible on the leaf.
