This is an original leaf from a medieval Book of Hours. 18 lines of text, written in Latin with dark brown ink on animal vellum. One two-line initial in gold on blue and red ground with white tracery; eleven one-line initials alternating in blue with red tracery. The two-line illuminated D” begins Psalm 26:1-6: “Dominus?” ( The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The lord is the protector of my life?)”
