This old world map by Jean Baptiste Nolin was done in 1708. It comprises two hemispheres supported by two mythological figures. Surrounding the hemispheres (in finely executed etching by the painter Nicolas Bocquet) are scenes depicting the creation of the world and the cosmos. A border panel of vignettes illustrate scenes from biblical history.
