Map of the Elk Mountains Colorado

An amazingly advanced and detailed work of the Elk Mountains, with a beautiful style of shading to depict the slopes. There is also several geologic information shown, uniquely distinguished by pattern. This is a rare map, giving us an early look at this area. In the upper right there are two attractive mountain views; “Castle Group from the West” and snow Mass Mt. from the West”. This is an outstanding example of late 19th century cartography at its best, produced by the man who arguably mapped the state best. Condition is good. Back with Japanese tissue for support.
