Map of the Original Thirteen Colonies

This hand colored map was made for “Mitchells New General Atlas,” published in 1877 by S. Augustus Mitchell. The original 13 colonies of the United States are illustrated on this map. States are highlighted by color. Illustrations of the designs used on the first money coined by the United States are provided as well. The population by state and important battles in the revolution are listed beside the map.
