Original leaf from a medieval manuscript Book of Hours. 15 lines of ruled text, written in Latin, on animal vellum. Writen with dark brown ink, in small gothic book-hand, with rubrics 9headings) in red. Illuminated line-endings in red, blue and gold; Nine one-line intials alternating in blue with pen-work and gold with purple pen-work. This leaf was apparently made for a woman, as a sister leaf contains a painting of a woman patron.This leaf is from Northeastern France or Flanders, c. 1300-25 – Very early ( during the period of transition from Psalters and Psalter-hours).This leaf continues a prayer to the Holy Trinity.
