This map made for the U.S. Geological Survey in 1878 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers shows part of north-central California. This mostly tan map has extensive topographical details of this mountainous area, as well as identification of towns and streets. These California survey maps are very rare and valuable as collectibles, in addition to their value as pictures of the area in a less developed state.
