M. F. A. Garnier made the “Atlas de Geographie” in 1862. The maps in this atlas would frame nicely due to their extraordinarily beautiful hand coloring and title plates and their large margins. North-western Africa is illustrated on this map with pastel coloring. An inset shows the Ises de Cap Vert. The names of regions, possessions, important cities, island chains, mountains, rivers and lakes are identified in French.
