Made for Coltons 1859 Atlas, this map contains bright, original hand coloring, and exquisite detail. The entire state of Texas is shown, detailing railroads, towns, cities, counties, rivers, physical topographical features, forts, primary wagon trails, and the unexplored western region of the state. Three inset maps are included, showing the Plan of Sabine Lake, the Plan of Galveston Bay and the Plan of Northern Part of Texas. Framed with the traditional Colton iron scroll-work border, this very rare historical map will make an exceptional gift for any Texas resident. Note that there is some minor paper damage in the margin and some staining in the center fold. Repaired split in fold.
