This hand colored set of two maps were made by Adam and Charles Black for “Blacks General Atlas” published in 1851. England and Wales are illustrated on a set of two maps (north/south). An insets shows the Scilly Isles. Details include the names of villages and many cities, and illustrations of rivers, lakes, and mountains. Regions are distinguished by pink, yellow, blue, and green color which is well maintained for the age of the map. The impression of the press used to engrave the map is still visible.
