This map was created by Roswell C. Smith for smith’s Atlas of Modern and Ancient Geography.” The original hand-coloring highlights the different countries of South America at the time. The map lists towns, cities, and rivers, and mountains. Many South American Indian Tribes are also named, in the regions they were from.
