Map of the State of Iowa

A wonderful map from S. Augustus Mitchells “A New Universal Atlas Containing Maps of the Various Empires, Kingdoms, States, and Republics of the World”. Mitchell was the most successful commercial cartographer in the US. He sold his business to the Milton Bradley Company in the 1880’s. His maps from the 1850’s have become extremely difficult to obtain, especially in this fine condition.
