This map was produced for the “Monarch Standard Atlas” , by J.Martin Miller in 1905. Massachusetts and Rhode Island are illustrated on this map with a list of counties and chief cities to the bottom center of the page. An inset of the Boston vicinity at a larger scale is provided. Counties are distinguished by color. Other details include major roads,illustrations of lakes, rivers,national parks, and mountains. The atlas proclaimes that it offers “complete, original and authentic maps of the present developement of all the countries, empires and states of the world comprising a graphic description of the people: their civilization, their religion, their government, their cities, their important exports, their wealth, their railways, their canals, their cables, their telegraphs, ect., including a description of their climate, the productions, the rivers, the valleys, the lakes, the mountains, the minerals, the glaciers, and every other subject of interest to the american people.”
