Regni Daniae (Denmark)

This is a masterful work, showing us the peninsula and its islands. It is uncommon to see such an exacting and yet marvelously appealing depiction of the nation. While detail for towns and villages abound, the artistic qualities have not been sacrificed. In looking at this fine engraving we see the detailing for trees, castles, (which denoted large towns), and all of this complimented by a large decorative cartouche. The cartouche show two men holding up the Danish crest, while surrounded by livestock.
