A stunning map by Frederick de Wit of the Northwest Iberian peninsula including the cities of Madrid & Toledo. De Wit(1629-1706) was an integral part of the Golden Age of Dutch mapmaking. His first engravings appeared in 1648 with a city plan of Haarlem. After his death his printing plates passed to Pierre Mortier, a felow Dutch mapmaker, at auction in 1710.
