This engraved map of the River St. Clair, Michigan, was done by the U.S. Government Topographic Engineers in 1852. Details include depth measurements and an illustration of the pile driven at the side of the channel. There is also a short paragraph by the engineer stating his observation of the channel as compared with the last survey in 1842. The St. Clair River is a 40.5-mile-long river that drains Lake Huron into Lake St Clair. It forms part of the international boundary between the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of Michigan.
