San Diego Bay, California; U.S. Coastal Survey, 1857

This coastal survey of San Diego Bay was made in 1857 by the Coast Survey Office. This map shows the San Diego Bay along with the mainland areas of San Diego like Mission Valley, Valley of Tecolote, La Punta, Valley of Las Yeguas, Carbonera, Las Choyas, La Paleta, La Berrenda, Ohjia, the San Diego River and False Bay. Additionally, this map contains depth readings as well as notes that provide sailing instructions, and information on tides and currents.
