This beautiful, geological formation map listing all the soil, rock, sand, gravel, and more of the northern peninsula of Michigan. Published in 1936 by the United States Geological Survey, this map gives great detail and the color has remained quite bold. Just a few of the categories on the legend include formations of Archeozoic, Proterozic, and Paleozoic with formation stage, description, and economic resources. At the top of the map, a geological cross-section of upper Michigan is included. This map would look beautiful matted and framed or a great educational map for geological study.
