This colorful mid-century modern panorama of Northern California was illustrated by Millard Sheets and published by the American Trust Company in San Francisco. This drawing depicts the origins of Northern California. It is very detailed, showing the first inhabitants (Native Americans and Spanish Missionaries), the California Gold Rush, the First Transcontinental Railroad, and the Mexican-American War, to name a few. Animals, ships, fauna, and the “Bear Flag” are also prominently represented on this drawing.
