This vibrant map of Central City, Colorado was created by the United States Geological Survey. It was first drawn up in 1912, and later reprinted in 1948. The United States Geological Survey publishes topographic maps of the entire United States. These maps are often used as the basis for other commercial map products and they serve as one of the best tools available for navigating the countrys wild and urban terrain. This map shows contour lines (lines of equal elevation) which depict natural features of the land, as well as roads, railroads, streams, trails, forest types, national parks (including the Arapaho National Forest and the Roosevelt National Forest), and other geographic features.
