Very rare double page map of Texas by Mitchell dated 1873. Texas in all its glory, masterfully hand colored, with a traditional ivy border that have made Mitchell maps so desirable. This steel plate engraved map shows cities and towns, lakes and rivers, counties, railroads, wagon trails, topography, and forts. Also depicted an inset map of the city of Galveston, showing streets, railroads and forts. Map is wonderfully framed with a double mat, silver fillet and ornate silver coated frame.
