Texas, New Mexico and Arizona
Out of stock
This map shows Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma as they appeared in 1868. This map is a great example of western county development, as eastern Texas is highly developed and western Texas and the other states are very undeveloped. Oklahoma is also depicted as being Indian Territory. It was originally published in H.F. Walling’s Atlas of the State of Ohio, and features beautiful original hand coloring of the individual counties. This map is exquisitely detailed with counties, cities and towns, state capitols, railroads, explorer and pioneer routes and roads, mail-routes of the time, rivers, lakes, and mountains. One unusual feature is a small print in the image of the map depicting a Native American ceremony.
