The Geological Survey is making a geologic atlas of the United States, which is being issued in parts, called Folio’s. Each folio includes topographic and geologic maps of a certain area. This folio was engraved and printed by the the U.S. Geological Survey, in 1908. The contents of this folio include: descriptive text, topographic map, areal geology map, structure and economic geology map, columnar section sheet. This folio of Independence was published in 1908 and has a very detailed description and explanation of the quadrangle. The pages of this Atlas are in very good condition, with the exception of some minor tears along the edges of the first page.
