Governor Miguel A. Otero, has held the position of Territorial Governor for 9 years, remaining the longest-serving Latinx Governor in US history. While this report is not appreciably shorter than others in previous years, Otero in his opening statement says he has attempted to make reports more concise, per the request of the Secretary of the Interior, and he concludes this statement with a call for New Mexican Statehood. Statements are included from other Latinx officials such as Jose Francisco Chavez and Jose Sena. ii
