This book is covered in gilt brick red linen, inscribed on tipped-in compliments slip. Date on spine is 1915. This fascinating book written by William D. Boyce contains many photographic illustrations.

One passage reads: “As a race the Puerto Ricans are polite and hospitable and I am sorry to say that in many cases, after the war their kindness was grossly imposed upon. Sharpers who trailed American troops took advantage of the unsuspecting natives and caused no small part of the anti-American sentiment, which is now dying out except for the fanning oof the cooling embers by political agitators.”(p117)
