Ruins of the freight depot, this picture shows the vault, only part of the building left standing. Newspaper article from 1907 describes the disaster as follows: Boulder’s Great Disaster, Aug. 10, 1907 Fire Started shortly after midnight in west end of freight depot sheds and spread rapidly until the building and the cars on the tracks were a mass of flames. A car containing 2350 pounds of dynamite stood on the track beside the depot and half an hour after the fire started exploded with frightful results. Four deaths resulted, 31 were seriously injured and many others slightly….” 10th & Walnut Streets”
