Carriages park to watch while other drives past. An index below the picture shows the guest tent, the cadet band quarters, and more. After the Civil War, interest in military affairs declined, but the Corps came to life again under Thomas F. Edmands. Edmands, a Civil War veteran, trained the Corps to become a top parade unit and infantry battalion. When this picture was made, the Corps became officially known as the First Corps of Cadets.
