This is a nice map of the world, originally published in Venice in 1548 by Giacomo Gastaldi. Giacomo Gastaldi is considered as the foremost Italian cartographer of the 16th century along with Paolo Forlani. Gastaldi established his reputation in Venice and was cosmographer to the Republic of Venice. For his 1548 Geographia, Gastaldi produced 2 modern maps of the world, this map and ‘Universale Novo’ which is more of a traditional world view map.
