This image of San Antonia, in 1767, is a reproduction from the original which is showcased at The British Library. This color manuscript survey was prepared by Lt. Joseph De Urrutiais and is the first detailed plan to show the capital of Spanish Texas. The church separated the military and civic plazas where most of the town’s buildings could be found. On either side one can see the irrigated farm fields along the west bank of the San Antonio River.
