This unusual and rare view by George Goddard was originally created in 1868. It looks east to San Francisco Bay from a high point above the Pacific Ocean. The Cliff House and the Presidio in the foreground were still far from the built-up portion of the city beyond the rugged hills in the center of the peninsula.
