This map of Virginia and Maryland was created by John Smith, in 1676. It is similar in style to his early map but also incorporates the many names of places of Augustine Hermann’s later survey. This unique map is a visual delight, with its elaborate cartouche, quaint delineation of mountains, and lovely color.
