A Correct Map of the World Describing Capt. Shelvocks Voyage round’

This is a map full of the character of the time, and documents an early journey, which circumnavigated the globe. The expedition was a private one, which set out from London in 1718 and returning back in 1722. This journey led them around South America, and up the western coast to the tip of California, which is here shown as the Island of California. After sailing across the “Great South Sea” they skirted the coast of Asia, finally rounded the Cape of Good Hope on Africa and made way home to England. This is a charming smaller map in good condition, with good hand color.
