This beautiful, original hand-colored map the World in Hemispheres (with Comparative Views of the Heights of the Principal Mountains and Lengths of the Principal Rivers of the Globe) came from the “Atlas of the State of Maine” produced by George N. Colby & Co. in 1884. Colbys atlas and the maps therein were produced in limited numbers for a short time, making city and county maps of Maine difficult to locate. This detailed map the World in eastern and western hemispheres shows countries, cities, and various geographic features. It also includes graphs around the perimeter depicting the elevations of major mountains, lengths of rivers, and world time. ‘
