With fine detailing we see the continents with quite recognizable contours, and the remaining lands are treated with more substance than speculation. Where usually maps of this era continued to perpetuate myths and hunches, this map pretty well stuck to the substance of what was known of the globe. The condition of the map is very good, and is visually enhanced by attractive hand coloring.
