This map has so advanced as to show us how mountain ranges and land crests continue around the globe. So a mountain range that stretches across southern Africa, continues as an underwater elevation through the sea and connects again as a mountain range on the coast of South America. This is a fascinating way of analyzing the world, but there are other features that capture our attention.
