This hand colored map was made for “Mitchells New General Atlas” published in 1868 by S. Augustus Mitchell, Jr. This is a stunning double hemisphere map. Also shown are the major rivers of the world, as well as five additional smaller hemisphere maps of the poles and other regions. Hemisphere maps are getting harder to find. The pastel coloring in this atlas is very beautiful and more muted than typical.
