This beautiful antique map of Germania Antiqua (the Roman and Greek term for the geographical regions inhabited mainly by peoples considered to be Germani) was issued in the Atlas of Ancient Geography, by Samuel Butler, in 1831. This region roughly comprises present day Germany, Czech Republic, and parts of Poland, Austria, Slovakia, and the Netherlands. This original hand colored map shows different regions, cities and towns, mountain ranges, rivers, and other geographic features. This is a rare antique map full of ancient history and geography.
Condition: Good, light age toning and staining, repaired tear at centerfold
