This poster for a Thurston magic show features a magician to a background of Egyptian columns with hieroglyphs, donkeys, and demons. Thurston was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1869. He was famous for his floating lady illusion and card tricks. Inspired by magician Alexander Hermann’s work, he pursued magic and was one of the biggest traveling performances of his time; his show required 8 train cars to transport.
