Artist Tom Purvis was a British painter and commercial poster artist during the early 20th century. Purvis created his style of bold, two-dimensional color and limited detail while working as a freelance designer. This series was done for the LNER (London and North Eastern Railway) and during this period, Purvis produced over 100 posters. His work for LNER focused more on the resorts and holiday destinations along the railroads path. This vintage poster depicts the seaside town for holidays in Lincolnshire, England. A mom and dad enjoy a donkey ride with their child as their other child follows behind grasping the donkey’s tail. With great color and style of the era, this would make a great child’s room framed piece.
