This hand colored map was made by O.W.Gray and son in 1886 for “The National Atlas”. Africa is illustrated on this map. Two insets illustrate the delta of the Nile and the island of St. Helena at greater scales than the main map. Countries and possessions are distinguished by bright pastel color. Other details include the names of countries, possessions, and important cities, and illustrations of rivers, lakes, railroads, and mountains.
