China Map from Japanese Meiji Period – #01 Northern China

We are excited to offer what may be some of the scarcest material we”ve offered. Translators confirm that this map is probably from the early Meiji period in Japan (1868-1912), and we assume it to be prior to the Sino-Japan war, giving us an approximate date of c. 1880. Printed on a very strong, yet light tissue paper, this wonderful hand colored map is probably one of the most uncommon items we”ve seen. This map focuses on a few specific regions in Northern China and in what would be approximately the area from Tianjin to Huainan. This is a beautifully stylized map showing us rivers, mountains, cities, and provinces. This condition is very good.
