This stunning miniature map of the Inland Seas and Principal Lakes in the Eastern Hemisphere was issued in conjunction with “The Geographical Annual of Family Cabinet Atlas” specially patronized by their Most Gracious Majestys, William IV and Adelaide in 1833. This atlas was issued as a “gift annual,” the traditional New Year present in Great Britain which usually took the form of a book of poetry or other illustrated volumes. This map shows a comparative view of seas and lakes in the Eastern Hemisphere with a table of contents that lists the country and body of water that shows their relative proportions and proper positions of North and South.
