This colorful map was produced by Asher & Adams, a popular state and county map maker based out of New York City. This map made in 1871 came from the second edition of their atlas entitled “Asher & Adams” New Topographical Atlas and Gazetteer of New York”. Each map has original hand coloring in red, yellow, green and pink, and was one of the fines atlases of New York counties every produced. Their fine attention to detail makes these maps very desirable. This map details railroads, wagon trails, canals, cities, towns, and villages, lakes and rivers, lighthouses, survey lines, post offices, county seats, and topographical features such as mountains. Our research has taught us that these 1871 county maps are somewhat uncommon, especially in such fine, clean condition with strong original color.
